Emmanuel Labaronne et al. Pub: Nature Communications
A study recently published in Nature Communicationsto which Emmanuel Labaronne contributed with LBMC's RMI2 team, reveals by combining RNAseq, Ribosome Profiling and proteomic profiling that HIV-1 exploits non-AUG upstream open reading frames (uORFs) to produce small peptides capable of activating a specific T cell response.
These results suggest new mechanisms of interaction between the virus and the immune system, paving the way for a better understanding of the antiviral immune response and potential targets for the development of innovative therapeutic strategies.
